Devi’s Emerald – 2002
Maa Mookambika is the Universal Mother. She is Adi Shakti…the Source of all Energy. When Maha Sarasvati, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Kali merge with Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, the ultimate embodiment is Maa Mookambika. She is omnipresent, omnipotent, ever loving; Mother Energy personified.
In 1972, Swamiji Vishnu Sadanand Nayak, the father of five children and an electrical engineer working in Phillips India, much to his own chagrin, was chosen by Devi, as Her messenger and healer. Initially, it seemed as the most inappropriate choice. He was a man, who when confronted in an argument, allowed His fists to do most of the talking. He was fond of all the good things in life and the only Devi, He was acquainted with, were those adoring the silver screen. He wanted nothing to do with spirituality and the mystical path. If ever, there was a reluctant Swami, He was the one. He fought tooth and nail against His own destiny, and after two years, accepted to be Devi’s medium, but on His own terms.
Since then and now, thousands of people have benefited with the innumerable but forever accurate predictions, as well as the miracles that have been performed by Devi through Swamiji. Miracles have been experienced by devotees and skeptics alike. It is little wonder, that to most devotees, the fine line differentiating Devi and Swamiji, has long since disappeared. A Sage – who is not surrounded by a coterie of security…who is accessible to one and all, at all times, irrespective of cast, creed and financial status.
Ruzbeh N. Bharucha, journalist-editor and the author of The Last Marathon, dwells into the lives of all those, who have witnessed and experienced the love and grace of Maa Mookambika and Swamiji. Spending time with Swamiji and His innumerable devotees, the author, with his casual drawl and loads of humour, has created a heartwarming story, about astounding miracles, a loving Sage and the Universal Mother.
